Legend eQuestrian was named through the inspirational story of Alexander the Great and his horse Bucephalus. The pair had a legendary relationship that continues to be a driving force in Marina's desired way of being with horses. The story goes as follows...
Bucephalus was an 'unmanageable' horse of whom nobody could tame, let alone ride. At a very young age Alexander bet his father that he could tame the beast. He noted that Bucephalus was afraid of his own shadow. Based on that observation he turned Bucephalus to face the sun, thus making him unable to see his shadow, jumped on him and together they raced of into the horizon.
Many years later Bucephalus was lost in battle. Alexander declared that he would start killing if his horse was not returned in the allotted time. Shortly after the announcement Bucephalus was returned unharmed. Alexander loved and cherished that horse and Bucephalus apparently shared those feelings. At a very old age Bucephalus charged with Alexander into his last battle. After critical injuries Bucephalus still managed to bring Alexander to safety before surrendering to his death like a true partner.
